Latest Writing

I haven't been writing as much as I would have wanted to recently. That can be one of my many new years resolutions for 2013. I always write more during the holidays as I have nothing much to do - apart from see my friends, family, buy presents, wrap things, go out etc.

I have just finished putting together my latest HerUni article which I started a month ago! I have no excuse, it could have been finished a lot sooner.

Another one of my articles for Pillow has been published. A couple of months ago, I wrote three pieces including one about a new competition for ORGNL.TV. I then wrote an article about the winners of said competition. I love writing for Pillow because it's different to writing for HerUni or for myself. I have a deadline and a stipulated criteria of what the editor wants.

A bit of a random post, and I've just realised I posted earlier today also, so double dosage from me instead of nothing for weeks today.

Enjoy!

Writing Stuff

Before I went on holiday to Portugal, I set myself a massive task of completing fourteen articles in the space of two days. These were for HerUni, Pillow Magazine, Freedom Spark & The 405.

I felt like a proper freelancer under pressure the days before my holiday, and I'm glad I did it so that I enjoyed my holiday that much more! I love writing as you all know, and that experience that I set myself made me realise that writing will be my career, and if it's not, I have no idea what I will do with my life!

A sneak peek of my HerUni writers page... more of which you can find here.

I wrote six or seven articles days before I went to Portugal for HerUni. I need to think of more ideas for more articles!

For Freedom Spark, the gig came around because I know the lovely editor Katie through working in the University café last year. I follow her on Twitter and saw that she wanted some new writers to review films for her site. I reviewed Snow White & The Huntsman as well as the beautifully made Moonrise Kingdom.

And, lastly (for now), The 405. I wrote this article a while back about the Olympics. I had this idea for an article for months, and told my editor the idea when I first started writing for The 405. You can read the full article here.

So, that is it for Writing Stuff for now. I have done quite a lot of writing this month (in a week or so) and should find time to do more in August. I have a lot going on in August which will come in a post tomorrow (hopefully!)

New Pillow Magazine Post!

As you all know, I've started writing for Pillow Magazine. I've now written three pieces, all in the film category. I've been lucky to be able to write all about film as I don't really write much on film anymore. I do love my films though!

This new article is all about Sundance Film Festival happening later this month:

Pillow Magazine

A few weeks ago, I found myself on an online publication called Pillow Magazine. It was because of the gorgeous Jorgie Porter! She starred in a photoshoot that was on the website. Luckily for me, the mag had a contribution link, and so I emailed the editor enquiring about contribution.

Today, I wrote my first article and it is now live on the website! I always feel such an acheivement when a piece of my writing is published, even now for HerUni.com although I can publish it myself because I'm an editor. It's nice to have an email back from the editor to say that it's now live on the site.

Here is the home page and there is my article 'By FAYE SMITH'. I LOVE that! It's great to have your name out there on other sites apart from your own.
