Winter.

Winter is on it's way in thick and fast. I'm even feeling it a bit over in the South of Spain where it should be sunny 24/7! This is not the case. I am really excited to come home in just over a month despite it being really cold.

My landlord came to the flat for rent last night and I was bare-footed, and he said, "Why don't you have socks on? Aren't you cold?!" in Spanish. I replied, "No." One of my flatmates was shocked so I said to him that it was a lot colder than this where I come from, in the minus' at the moment in fact. He couldn't believe it.

However, I am adapting to this weather as I get cold at less than 18 degree weather which is not normal for us Brits!

Anyway, as winter is coming, it's time for some winter inspiration on SG.

This was my 200th SG blog post!

I have just joined Pinterest where you can see here. Expect a hell of a lot of hair repins, especially in the run up to me getting my hair restyled! It is not long now until I get it done! Beyond excited.

What To Wear: Bonfire Night

From what I've seen on Facebook and Twitter, there has already been a weekend filled with fireworks and bonfires. But, tonight is the night. It is afterall the 5th November!

I remember the times when I was younger, to early teen years, when I would walk to Central Park with family, and later friends to watch the massive bonfire with that tiny chair on top and a fake Guy Fawkes.

I wish that Spain celebrated Bonfire Night just so I could go and see some fireworks somewhere. I'll have to make an effort when I'm back in London next year to go to Hyde Park, unless I'm working which will probably be the unlucky case.

With Bonfire Night, despite the raging fire, it will be freezing in England, so get the hats and gloves out along with biker boots and scarves. Basically wrap up very warm.

Of course this is only one look; you could go with a skirt and thick tights plus a long winter coat, or leggings and an oversized jumper with more layers underneath combined with wellies if it is wet and muddy where you are.

Whatever you wear tonight, enjoy the fireworks and the bonfire with that fake Guy Fawkes on top whilst I'm stuck in a lecture room until 8pm and then have to come home without seeing any sparkler this year. And, stay safe!

Knits & Maxis

Lately, around Spain, I have seen a load of knitted jumpers that I want to buy for the festive holidays in oh-so-cold England as well as a load of maxi skirts. I bought some hi-lo skirts today to be paired with knitted tights for Xmas. I have been spreading my 'style' wings and taken onboard new cuts and styles that I would never have thought about buying back home, in England. So, I am grateful to Spain for that, and it's very good chain of shops full of cheap but fabulous clothes!

However, for this post, I am sticking to the UK high streets, and two of my all time favourite stores, River Island & Topshop... as always for SG posts!

Undoubtedly, I will be making more jumper and maxi skirts purchases. It's a nice difference to the usual black leggings and cardigan combo that I wear practically every day during the winter. It is also a good excuse to go and shop some more!
