The 405 Posts

Just a quick posts to show you what I've been up to lately with regards to online publication. To be honest, it's not a lot due to moving back home, going out with my friends during the last week of term, and packing/unpacking/sorting etc. etc. But, here are two posts for The 405. I may have linked up the first one beforehand.

1. 30 Years of Guess

2. The Diamond Jubilee

There's two articles. I've sent through another, shorter piece that will hopefully be up on the site soon once I've had the go ahead from the lovely fashion editor Eleanor!

Dolls Boutique

A few weeks ago, I was in work when my phone beeped off saying I had a tweet. It was from Dolls Boutique, an online fashion, accessories, homeware, and gift boutique asking for a collaboration with my blog. I was so ecstatic you would not believe! Nothing could bring my mood for the rest of the day down!
They have sent me what they want to be feautured on the blog which is the image below, and it's up to me how I want to set it out, etc. etc. You know me. It's going to be a how to wear this with that etc.

Enjoy!

(L-R) Cream, chiffon, sheer, flower blouse £20; Pastel coloured elephant necklace £12, Ivory square bangle £6, Gold topaz cocktail ring £5, Gold spiked bracelet £6.

It it were me, I'd put all the accessories together with the blouse and a pair of black leather/wet look leggings with some bright flats or military boots for the day time, and some chunky heels for the evening!

Leggings: Topshop
Shoes: Missguided.co.uk
Bag: boohoo.com

How would you wear these accessories from Dolls Boutique?
Which is your favourite?

Summer Bucket List

This summer, I literally have to make it the best ever as I am going to Spain in September for the majority of the year. I'll be flying back of course but only some of the time like Christmas & Easter. So, I want to make the most of my family and friends this Summer by doing as much as I can! Hopefully, spending little too! I need to save! Not likely!

1. Thou shalt have a relaxing holiday with family in Portugal.

2. Thou shalt sunbathe all day and party all night in Tenerife.

3. Thou shalt camp in a massive field and see amazing people at V.

4. Thou shalt have a massive BBQ with friends & family.

5. Thou shalt go on a girly road trip to our home towns for a few days.

6. Thou shalt read and write everyday.

7. Thou shalt host a Mexican Evening complete with sombreros and tequila.

8. Thou shalt have a massive car boot sale and sell half my clothes.

9. Thou shalt get fit for holidays and Spain.

10. Thou shalt get up early everyday to get the most of Summer.

There's my 10 Commandments/Summer Bucket List, and already (I don't need to add to the list) I'm going back to London for the Diamond Jubilee. It was such a random and spontaneous decision. My best friend was going on her own, and she hasn't lived in London like moi, so I'll be going down too! And visiting Sheffield the night before which I haven't done in the two years of living in uni!

Here's to a fabulous summer whatever you're doing!

Charity Shop Finds

Mum and Dad are down in London for the my move back up North. Today we spent two hours packing up my tiny box room which had a lot of stuff in it & then went to Putney to have some food and a wander.
My dad loves charity shops, Oxfam, Cancer Research... you name it, he's been in there. I love them too, for books. As you all know, I'm a HUGE readaholic and I can't wait to be sitting down on a beach/in the garden/anywhere with my nose in a book. I bought three books, and Mum bought me a cute little bracelet too!

I saw The Almost Moon first, having read The Lovely Bones and loved it. Then I read the first sentence of the novel: "When all is said and done, killung my mother came easily." There's not a lot of books that get straight to the point about the dramatic plotline like that! The Pirate's Daughter is a book that I've always seen in Waterstones, and the title has always intrigued me (being a lover of Pirate's and the Caribbean). Then, I spotted A Thousand Splendid Suns which my friend has always recommended I read. It's her favourite book, so I'll be reading that too!... In the sun, on a beach, near the sea. Perfection.
I spotted that bracelet as I was paying for the books, and it's such a lovely little bracelet that I had to have it, and Mum offered to pay! Bonus!

Go into charity shops. You never know what you might find and you're helping out the world!

Spanish Decor With British Accessories

As you all know, in three months I'll be living in Spain. I'm a little nervous about leaving my friends and family for the majority of ten months, but looking at inspiring Spanish decor and interiors, I've started to get a little more excited!

Various inspiration...

I love the combination of modern times with traditional Spanish decor in the pictures on the wall, the deep colours of red and brown, the tiled stairs, and the open plan layout. I especially love the last image for the built in oval-shaped desk infront of windows.

As much as I love the Spanish decor, I'm going to need some British memorabilia in my new home (maybe just my room depending on who I end up living with!). That might be a cushion or two with the British flag or a Pug sewn into it, or an image of the Liverpool skyline.

Just for fun. Some inspiration of British decor.

There you have two styles of interior design. I don't know which is my favourite.

What's yours?

Last Week at Roe

This post is a little bit different to my normal posts about inspiration or fashion, style, film, whatever. This post is a little bit about my life. Yes, I've done 'updates' in the past but here it is.

1. The 4th of May was my last hand in date of 2nd year and although it was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders at the end of it, in hindsight it's a little sad. My next university lecture will be in Spanish, in Spain, Murcia to be exact, and don't get me wrong, I'm SO excited to go to Spain, experience a new culture for almost a year, and have an entire different life to the one I'm used to in England. One of the reasons I moved to London from the North was for this September. I went to Roehampton not knowing anybody and I've made (cheesy as it sounds) friends for life. I know I'll be alright once I get over the initial scared s**tless phase. I'll be back come the September after next, but the majority of my friends will have graduated by that point, so that's the saddest part about going to Spain. I'm not going to be able to spend my (or their) final year with them.

2. All the soppiness over. I filled out my Murcia application form today, and (despite the depressing above paragraph) I am so excited to go! I can't wait for the warmer weather, speaking Spanish (hopefully fluently), eating tapas, making new friends, travelling (I'll be going to Malaga/Benidorm some weekends), and so much more! I really want to buy new clothes, which I know I shouldn't because I've spent humongous amounts already! I'm loving the new style of tees which have gaping holes for sleeves! Them with LA prints are amazing a la New Look & River Island.

3. Currently, I'm at home (up North). Returning to London tomorrow. I've got work the next day, Thurs, and the massive, long awaited Summer Ball that I'm working. It's going to be mental, but worth it! I need to finish writing up more articles for a new online culture mag I'm writing for The405. My first article is here. I also need to go to Central this week, mainly Covent Garden, Camden, Oxford Street, maybe the V&A for another article I'm working on for a new american online mag that will be revealed once the first issue has been published in August. Plus, it's my housemates birthday on Wednesday so we are all going out in heels (of course) and dresses for her 21st! All this plus packing up my room, and lunch with a friend. It's a very busy week for me!

I hope I haven't bored you with the details of my life!

Much love!

MLFD Maxi Dress

My Little Fashion Diary is a blog which I have followed for years. I love Emilie's style, her life, the look of her quirky apartment, and her taste in pastel coloured food! She is one of the most successful and individual bloggers out there right now!

In one of her recent blogs, she wears a maxi dress from her online boutique Rebelle which is beautiful! It's on my wishlist of things that I will (hopefully in the future!) never right now be able to afford! I love browsing on Rebelle to look for inspiration of vintage, or right now clothes and accessories. Their playlists are fab too!

Here is the maxi dress, and an image of Emilie modelling it...

There's my little bit of inspiration from a fabulous fashion blogger, and her amazing fashion sense!

Go check out (if you haven't already) www.mylittlefashiondiary.net for more fantastic clothes, food, and inspiration.
