What I Bought Yesterday

Yesterday, I went to Nueva Condomina for some necessities (and some sale splurges). I ended up spending quite a bit of money whilst walking around the shopping centre for hours. That is the reason why I don't go to that place a lot. I spend way to much money in there.

Stradivarius:

One of the reasons I needed to go shopping was to buy a skirt like the one above. It was only six euros!! It may need an iron. I go to London tomorrow and needed something to wear on Saturday night. I'll be having (sophisticated) cocktails at Slug & Lettuce. I'll be teaming the skirt with a black lace bralet - I don't care that it has been snowing - one of the above shirts (probably the skull one), black tights and black wedges. I wanted a shirt to go over the top of the outfit and saw these two beauties from the new collection in the store. They were 12.95 each but I really liked them; not that I'll wear them much but ah well!

Zara:

I saw the top first and really like it. I love saying/image vest tops recently. There were no smalls so I had to buy a medium. It's a little baggy but if I tuck it into a skirt it looks good. Green is my favourite colour, and emerald is the colour of my birthstone so I just had to pick up the first skirt pictured. It was in the sale for 19.95 as was the black silk skirt. I really liked them both when I tried them on. The top was around 6 euros too. I can justify all the buys so it is fine that I've bough another two maxi skirts and another vest top.

Botticelli:

I really wanted to buy another bag for the plane tomorrow. I was going to take my new blue handbag with the skull on but I doubt that I'd get everything in there. My Mum suggested my bright hippy-style backpack which I thought about but that against my black Pull and Bear coat would not work at all. Hence the need for a new bag. It looks kind of small but I think I can get all I need in there for my long weekend away. It has a load of different zip compartments inside which is really good for putting my passport, boarding passes, phone, I-pod etc. in. I still need to print my boarding passes off! For less than 25 euros aswell, I think it is a pretty good bargain!

I got a job at the local school instead of going to university too! I found out in the early hours of the morning. I am so ecstatic that I have the job and don't have to go back to that uni! And what better way to celebrate than flying back to London tomorrow for a long weekend! I am far too excited. I do have to get up at the latest 7am tomorrow morning to catch the 8am bus to the airport. It will be worth it when I am back in The Union with my friends and eating at the local Ask Italian!

For the rest of my day, I'll be deciding what to pack, packing, skyping my parents and going for Italian tonight for a friends leaving meal.

There's A Hole In Your Ear

If you didn't know it already, I am one of those people who like tattoos and piercings. I have many of both and I will be getting more. It is an addiction.

In Spain, I tried buying a pack of studded earrings from one of the shops that I regularly go to but the earrings kept on falling out because the backs of them didn't fit properly. I was supposed to buy a load more from Topshop or River Island or Republic (favourites) whilst I was at home during Christmas and New Year, but I forgot. Now, I really wish I'd remembered because I've hardly got any studs here. It's a good job I'm going to London on Thursday! Very, very, very excited about that trip by the way!

I will be purchasing quite a collection this weekend, but not all of these!

HerUni: The Return Of Captain Jack Sparrow

It has been announced that Johnny Depp will be returning to our screens as our favourite pirate (Captain!) Jack Sparrow.

The IMDb status claims that the film is ’announced’ with comments of ‘scripting’. This was updated on August 5th of last year. Terry Rossio, who has written all Pirate’s of the Caribbean scripts, has once again took his place as scriptwriter of this instalment. Undoubtedly, Jack Sparrow’s speeches will be classic comedy with funny one-liners and a splash of witty stupidity in a clever way.

The question is: When will it be time to say goodbye to the pirates?

Obviously, there are many tales of the sea that can be retold through the eyes of Captain Jack Sparrow and his friends, enemies and frenemies, but just how many times can Disney, or Johnny and the rest of the crew, return to the seven seas?

Another question is: Will Penélope Cruz be returning as Jack’s other half?

She was stranded on the island after all with only a voodoo doll of Jack to keep her company. It would be great if she came back for this film, and perhaps another in order to make the franchise an even six. The first three would have had the epic love of Elizabeth Swan and Will Turner. This half of the franchise could focus on Jack and his wacky ways of showing, or not showing, love to the Spanish Enchantress. But that is just contemplation.

IMDb states that the year that this anticipated film is unknown at this point. However, the Facebook page of the Pirate’s of the Caribbean franchise states it will be out in theatres Summer 2015. Sadly, that’s another two years to wait.

Lately On Pinterest

I wrote last month that I had recently opened a Pinterest account and I love it. I love finding all these different inspirations that I would never find on google or photobucket etc. I especially love all the tattoo finds! It's great inspiration.

Here are some of my latest pins:

January Inspiration

I nearly forgot to write an inspiration post for this month until I realised the other day that I hadn't done one.

January is full of hopes, but also blues. It is after Christmas and everything has to go back to normal unfortunately. However, as this is the year that I am being mega positive and trying not to be negative, these are the good things that are inspiring me this January.

(L-R) It is a brand new year; what I am wishing for this year; pretty piercings; staying free to be my own person; long hair with short shorts... and tights; GOING TO LONDON; January flowers; keeping a diary - this one pictured is actually one kept by a first world war soldier; wearing pretty things despite the cold; having my life on my own turf, in my own time; creating my new tattoo; black and white swan mixed in fashion.

I had to get up early this morning and I'm glad I had to go out. It makes me feel like I haven't lost my day like I normally do when I'm in bed. I think I might give Martinez a visit and have some tortilla.

I need to do a load of boring stuff today aka revise, do laundry, buy food etc.

London Countdown: 15 days until I fly!

The Mortal Instruments

I can't remember what Christmas I received the first Mortal Instruments book written by Cassandra Clare. My mum picked it up for me and thought I would like it - something she does every Christmas - and I couldn't put it down.

Finally, this year the movie for that first instalment, The Mortal Instruments, City of Bones will be out in cinemas worldwide. I've memorised the date (sad I know) and I cannot wait to sit there in the pictures to watch it.

I can't remember exactly what happens in the first book because it was that long ago that I read it: I'll be re-reading them all before the first film arrives onto screens. Basically, there is a sixteen year old girl named Clary Fray with red hair and a best friend named Simon. The book starts with them two in their local club; whether it's an under 21 nightclub I do not know. Suddenly, Clary sees the most beautiful boy in the world as is the standard for every young adult book these days. Meet Jace, the golden haired, golden eyed Shadowhunter: half man, half angel sent to the world to save humanity from demons. The thing is, no human was supposed to see Jace or the other boy, Alec because of their glamour that they used. And so starts the questions of Why? How? What? etc. Plus, Clary's mother Jocelyn is kidnapped into another dimension. So, this poor girl Clary has lost her only close blood relative, is now seeing things, has to face the likes of demons, vampires and werewolves, and has fallen for somebody that she really shouldn't. But, I'm not going to spoil that one for you because that's just mean.

The book has a lot of loveable characters in it which many readers can relate to despite the whole other world within New York City.

Onto the film. There has been a load of fanmade videos created for youtube over the years on who the fans wanted cast for the roles of, namely, Clary and Jace. They got their wish with Lily Collins but nobody expected Jamie Campbell Bower at all. Apparently, Cassandra Clare thought he was the perfect Jace, and so got the role. Johnathan Rhys Meyers has the role of the evil character of the series, Valentine, and the lovely irish fella known for Misfits, Robert Sheehan has won the role of Simon Lewis, Clary's best friend.

It is out in cinemas on the 23rd of August this year.

I read book 5 of the series over Christmas. There's only one left to read and then it will be lived on in the cinema for a few years (depending obviously on the income of City of Bones).

New Year, New Start.

Happy New Year. All the best for 2013.

Here's to a new year to try and have a new start and make a load of new resolutions that 40% or 90% (I forget which) of us give up on within the next two weeks. I have a few resolutions or aims for the year that I hope to achieve by this time in the next 365 days. We shall see.

I'd love to do outfit posts for this blog but a) I don't have the right equipment to take a decent outfit photo and b) I throw on black leggings and a black top practically everyday so you'd probably all be bored. Maybe it will be a 2013 thing also though. Who knows.

Happy January.
